From Preggers with Love

The Frog, the Cameleon, the Gecko, the Bee : The Bugaboo Stroller.

Have you seen these super cool strollers?  The first time I saw one was at the Providence Place Mall in Rhode Island.  We had been pregnant for about three months at the time.  I’m sure prior to that, I may have seen the Bugaboo somewhere but I can’t recall.  You know how one suddenly starts seeing lots of Toyota Priuses once you decide to buy a Toyota Prius?

So I got home that day and checked out Bugaboo on Wikipedia: “The Bugaboo Frog comes in seven colors: black, blue, red, grey, sand, orange and aubergine. The Bugaboo Gecko comes in only three colors: black, green and red. The Bugaboo Cameleon can be customized in several fabrics. Its canvas base colors (which can’t be changed) are: dark grey, red, sand, blue and denim.” Oooh so many choices!

The issue with having too many choices is that you are never exactly happy with your final choice.  You spend so much time thinking through various options that in the end you feel you should have chosen the other item.  A simple trick is to get a friend (or family) to validate your choice and ding ding you begin to feel like a genius.

My fiancee usually calls her cousin Allie for validation.  Allie recently had a baby so she knows a lot about good baby stuff.  Without her, I’m sure we would have bought a lot of crap we’d never use.  Beyond the stroller, Baby needs all sorts of goodies such as diapers, onesies, blankets, crib, etc. All these goodies are made by several companies under multiple brands such as Swadler, Greco, Avent, Philips, and on and on and on…  That’s a lot of validation phone calls.

This whole preggers experience got me thinking- wouldn’t it be cool if I could simply go to one website that would tell me everything I need for Baby and help me automatically choose the best baby clothes, strollers, breast pump, and everything I need without having to call anyone or read too much?

I found a couple of friends who share this vision.  We are building a pregnancy friendly web application that will simplify your pregnancy experience.  KridL should be live and ready to use by December 2008.  So if you have any friends who are planning on starting a family soon, tell them to KridL their way to a smooth velvety red Bugaboo cradle!
